What is a Tasting Night?

Our tasting night is private event for groups of 6-20 people and includes food pairings, private shopping, and education on our products. The evening typically lasts 2.5 - 3 hours and is done after regular business hours in the evening.

What is included in a Tasting Night?

We begin the night with an educational portion on olive oils and balsamics, glossing over cultivars, flavors, and health benefits. Our trained staff at Western Fitness - Healthy Living walk you through the proper tasting methods and identification of quality olive oils. Once the educational is complete we will move into the food and pairing portion of the evening. There will either be 5, or 7 courses depending on your choice when you book the event. The menu is decided by our in house chef, but typically includes all or some of the following: Amuse Bouche, Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Cleanser, Entrée, and Dessert courses. We finish off the evening with private shopping and a Q&A segment, where our product specialists will help build pairings to fit your palette, offer advice on product use, and ensure that everyone gets the most out of this personalized experience.

Why is there a deposit for a Tasting Night?

The deposit is in place to ensure that the date and time chosen are reserved and left available to your party. It is also a guarantee for scheduling staff and the time / effort that goes into crafting your tasting night. In the event that a reservation is cancelled our policies are as follows:

  • More than 48 hours notice - The deposit can be used to change the date of your booking to a future date or issued as an in store credit towards any olive oil or balsamic.

  • Less than 48 hours notice - The deposit will be lost towards the cost of produce purchased for the menu, time dedicated to creating the dishes, and/or wages for the staff scheduled.

If I book a Tasting Night can I cancel?

You may cancel a tasting night, provided you give us ample notice of 48 hours. Though we will not be able to grant a refund, you will be awarded an in-store credit equal to the value of the deposit. This credit may be spent on products or to register a future tasting night with us granted that you gave cancelled with 48 hours or more either via telephone: 306.242.0776 or email: healthyliving@westernfitness.ca . Any booking cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will lose the deposit.

What will Tasting Night menus look like?

Chef’s choice! Every night is different, based on your parties dietary restrictions, and what ingredients are in season. If you would like a specific request please mention it when the reservation is being confirmed over email or phone. Requests must be made with at least 48 hours notice to be considered. 

Can I book a Tasting Night in person?

You can come by the store during regular business hours. Our staff will happily make a reservation with you and take a deposit for the booking. We still typically require proper notice to prepare for the event, so be sure to book in advance.
